Nuclear Power Plants
Our titanium and stainless steels are also used for water systems for nuclear power plants. For nuclear power plants, we produce reactor-grade zirconium and hafnium alloys used in nuclear fuel cladding and structural component.
Coal-Fired Plants
In coal-fired plants, ATI's titanium & titanium alloys, nickel alloys and stainless steels are used for pipe, tube and heat exchanger applications in water systems and pollution control scrubbers.
Natural Gas Turbines
We are the technology leader for large diameter nickel-based superalloys used in natural gas land-based turbines for power generation. We also produce titanium alloys and stainless & specialty steels for land-based turbines. ATI Allegheny Ludlum is a world leader in Research and Development and production of heat resistant alloys for turbines and turbine recuperators.
Wind, Solar, and Geothermal Plants
For 'green' energy generation, our titanium, nickel alloys and stainless steels are used for solar and geothermal applications. We are also one of a few U.S. producers of very large ductile iron castings used for wind turbines.
