ATI 718Plus® superalloy was
developed to be a lower cost alloy capable of use at higher temperatures than 718 alloy with similar manufacturability compared with existing superalloys. All of our customer's evaluations have demonstrated that this new alloy achieves this and much more. Utilizing ATI 718Plus alloy in gas turbine applications is showing a substantial cost savings without sacrificing the strength and safety that are needed in critical parts. With evaluations in the final stages, major manufacturers are gearing up to put 718Plus alloy into production.
ATI 718Plus alloy exceeds the operating temperature capability of standard 718 alloy by 100 Fº (55 Cº) allowing engine manufacturers to improve fuel efficiency. Components designed using 718Plus alloy can be lower cost than those using Waspaloy, or other higher temperature capable alloys, due to the higher strength, superior formability, resistance to weld cracking, machinability, and better wear resistance of ATI 718Plus alloy.
ATI 718Plus alloy is available in mill product forms for end-use applications that include gas turbine rotating and static parts, fasteners, and castings as well as forging and extrusion dies.
